23/24 Epic League

A plan has taken form. To single out the strongest fighting force on Agnebergus. To do that we construct six armies of different types and let them all meet each other in a kind of a league.
All the battles will take place in or close to Nolus Minorus. A small city in the Angebergus eastern desert that happens to have the only source of water for several days march. 


+++ THE ARMIES +++
The armies was chosen to represent different styles of fighting forces from the supplies we had available. They are all at 2000p and most of them are not at all optimal but instead focus on specific traits.

++ Codex Astartes TP2018          2000p ++
The codex Astartes army selected is a ground pounding rather fast moving army. A bit unusual decision but we did not want to have two air assault marines in the league. It's strength is to be able to quickly focus it forces where needed and hit hard on a single spot. Individually however many of the detachments are rather week. It also lack any type of aircraft and have only one AA unit making it potentially vulnerable against air attacks.

++ Steel Legion TP2018            1975p ++
The steel legion army is a classic imperial guard army. Focus on two incredible strong units that can both take and deal a lot of pounding. But the rest of the formations are rather weak and its air power are limited to two thunderbolt squadrons that hopefully will keep the skies clean enough.

++ Minervan Tank Legion 1995p ++
The Minervan Tank legion army heavily use the new smaller tank companies to be able to fit enough formations within 2000pts. The question is if they will be durable enough? They will also have a hard time dislocating enemies from terrain that is impassible for vehicles. They also do not have any weapons that can do bombardments across the battle field but have to relay on a squadron of Thunderbolts and Marauders to both keep the skies clear and project firepower.

++ Scions of Iron 2000p ++
The final imperial army is the Scions of Iron in form of the Aurora Chapter. This is an extrem list with only four rather small land units that in most cases will probably have two of them in reserv. They will be able to focus the force extremely well but will have a hard time taking more than one objective. We do not have high hope for this guys.

++ Ghazgkhull Thraka's Warhorde 1995p ++
Over to the Orks. The first ork army is a rather classical Ghazgkhull army. But since it is Bad Moon themed it is rather tank heavy. The big warband will be it's main hitter. It has a pretty balanced approach toward air with both airplanes as well as a few flakwaggons making it hard to air assault.

+++ Blood Axe Morkrump’s Korpss Ork Army 1990p +++
The second ork army use the experimental list Morkrump’s Korpss because who does not like airborne orks? This army will just like the Aurora chapter above have extreme mobility. However it's staying power will probably be lacking and it will have a hard time to deal with bigger formations that the small warbands can not hurt in engage.

After each battle the armies will get scores in the league as follows.
Victory on turn 3: 4p
Victory on turn 4: 3p
Victory by score: 2p
Loss by score: 1p

Also the number of victory conditions held by each army at end of game will be recorded and used as tiebreaker if any army ended up on the same total score.
